On Friday, April 30th, the sixth edition of the Maths Champions took place at the Canigó School in Barcelona. This year, due to Covid-19, the event was held without the participation of other centers as it had been done in previous editions, in order to comply with all sanitary measures.
The P5 students of the Canigó School worked in teams to participate in various mathematical games adapted to their age including: measurement, calculations, simple statistical calculations, pattern recognition, etc. This fun day concluded with the resolution of mathematical challenges, in which each team had to put into practice all the content acquired. Each student of P5, according to their assigned role, executed the instructions given by the teaching staff, in a limited time.
In Canigó, Mathematics is fun from the very beginning
The Maths Champions is part of the Fun Mathematics Project (Matemáticas Divertidas) and shows the success of this innovative learning method. It is based on practical applications, with the aim of incorporating mathematical reasoning in a familiar and fun way.
