Six students of 3rd and 4th of Secondary participated in the national final of the tournament ECNAIS Debate Event in December, which this year has the title Democracy and Tolerance. The students of the Canigó school stood out among the finalists of this project.
Canigó's debate team reaches the national final
This contest, organized by ECNAIS, aims to «promote debate as an educational tool for the development of empathy, critical thinking and creative thinking in students. Training students as active citizens, thus contributing to democracy and tolerance.»
The International final will be held in Lisbon this April.
Speech and debate at Canigó school
The ECNAIS tournament is integrated into the oratory training in Canigo through the projects Teen Talks!, Team Talks! and Debate; and is carried out entirely in English.
Teen Talks! It is a project for students from 1st to 3rd of ESO in which they develop skills for Oratory such as active listening, dramatization, organization of speech or learning polite forms of address. Team Talks! It is aimed at 4th ESO students who, thanks to this project, continue to develop the necessary skills for Debate.
