Thanks to constant training and commitment, Fomento schools promote innovation. Innovation projects constantly arise at all stages and in all areas, thanks to the research and experience of teachers; and the impulse of the Education Directors.

Along with innovation, Fomento teachers work as a team to achieve the personal and academic improvement of their students.

2022 training sessions aimed at Fomento teachers

With tireless effort and dedication, teachers reinvent new ways of teaching and motivating students, and promote quality and innovation which are characteristics of Formento’s educational project.

During the months of September and October, teachers have received training sessions to improve their professional development. The training sessions were related to the educational project, innovation and educational updating; or with the acquisition of new personal and professional skills.

Methodological training in innovation projects

The Magic Dragon Project promotes the development of communicative competence from the age of 3. It includes Magic Dragon Phonics, Magic Dragon Drama, and Magic Talk!

Teacher training was held on September 13, with 18 online attendees from Altozano, Vilavella, El Vedat, Las Acacias, Entreolivos, Nelva, Montespiño, Los Olmos, Canigó, El Encinar and Montealto schools. The objective has been the explanation and theoretical foundation of the project emphasizing the development of phonetic competence, the art of speaking in public and the acquisition of English using theater.

It is an innovative project that facilitates the acquisition of the English language through the contents of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Artistic Expression.

Teacher training was held on September 14, with 22 online attendees from 15 schools. The objective of the project has been to familiarize teachers with the CLIL methodological approach and its application in the non-linguistic subjects (Natural and Social Sciences and Artistic Expression).

Child Talks! is a public speaking project that allows students to express their ideas, experiences, knowledge, etc., in English personally, fluidly and frequently.

The teacher training was held on September 2, with more than 130 attendees online. The objective has been to familiarize teachers with the four components of the project: Impromptu Speaking, Fun Time, Spelling & Grammar and Debate through recordings made for the teacher

The oratory game seeks that our students improve oral expression, recreating everyday situations in the classroom. Through the game, girls and boys are introduced to the art of oratory.

The teacher training was held on September 5, with more than 80 attendees online. The objective has been to familiarize teachers with the four components of the project: presentation, creative oratory, description and declamationn.

Journey into History is a project for learning History through the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology.

The teacher training was held on September 6, with 18 attendees online. The objective has been to reintegrate the existing materials for 1st and 2nd ESO and introduce the new course for 3rd and 4th ESO.

Teen Talks! works on skills for debate such as active listening, dramatization or speech structuring; combining it with the learning of grammatical structures and polite formulas.

The teacher training was held on September 27 and 28, with 58 online attendees. The objective has been to familiarize teachers with the project, its didactics and digital and methodological resources.

Training for teachers in the key competencies of the LOMLOE

In addition, in order to adapt to the modifications introduced by the LOMLOE, training sessions have been held on learning and assessment by competencies in the core subjects of the odd-numbered years of Primary and Secondary. Such as Mathematics Competencies in Primary and Secondary Education, Programming and Robotics Competencies, Social Competences in Primary; Language Competencies in Primary and Secondary Education and Biology Competencies.

Sessions for teachers in the Training area

On September 2, the Growing Up Happy project was presented to the 1st grade teachers, by Ana Paco, Assistant Director of Kindergarten and  Primary Training.

The Growing Up Happy project favors the acquisition of virtues and the management of emotions, which are keys to the development of personality. Continuing this project in first grade gives continuity to the project which began in kindergarten.

The content of the new material was prepared by the ESC publishing house. This training will be given in an intensive 6 session course that will take place between October 3 and November 4.

On October 5, there was a training session for Secondary and Baccalaureate advisors with more than 400 attendees. It took place online and it was given by Javier Gómez Martín, doctor in philosophy at the University of Navarra.

The session was centered on advising students in the most recent social context. It outlined the features of what is currently known as Generation Z or the Interactive Generation, to facilitate the reflection of the advisors, as well as the task of giving advice in these circumstances.

The training session will take place soon to present the new program of meeting sessions for 1st and 2nd of ESO.
