Graduación de las alumnas del Colegio Canigó 2024

Dear families, throughout these years, we have shared not only the joys of academic achievements, but also the tribulations of difficult moments. We have trusted Canigó and after playing a supportive and active role in these young women’s development, today we celebrate together the fruits of that collaboration. What great memories and experiences, we took with us from our time in Canigó. Especially for those of us who conclude our functions as school parents today.”

This is how Diego Almendáriz’s conference began, who first addressed the parents of the Fenix II promotion

He also transmitted the families’ gratitude for the teachers and administrative and service staff. Additionally, he recalled the words of Saint Josemaría in relation to the order of priorities that we should keep in mind in the school “first the parents; second, the teachers; thirdly, the students.”

He referred especially to “All the teachers who have been guides on this journey, molding not only minds, but also hearts. Thank you for your dedication, understanding and patience with all of them. At all times we have felt your support as we are the main educators of our daughters.”

An especially endearing moment was the remembrance of Teresa Cardona, a member of the executive committee for many years, and Emma Tornero, beloved teacher at Canigó and mother of a student in this class, who – as Diego said – “Today they accompany us from Heaven. ”

And finally, addressing the students of the Fenix II class:

Don't be afraid to dream big and to be agents of change in this world that, without a doubt, needs your creativity, strength, affection, smile and drive. And when you are disoriented, feeling that you can't, that you have no strength, I will tell you a secret: caring about the happiness of others is the way to be truly happy. Attentive to be kind in an effort to make life easy and happy for all those you meet every day; That will be a great sign of love, an indication of the right path!

Dear families, teachers, administration and service staff and, above all, Fénix II students, today is not an end point, but a new beginning. Look to the future with confidence and courage. Each one of you is a bright flame, ready to illuminate the world with your uniqueness. So, with hearts overflowing with pride and hope, let's toast the success, friendship, unity and future of the Fénix II promotion. Congratulations girls, keep flying high and reaching new heights! May every challenge be an opportunity for growth and every achievement a reason to celebrate and give thanks.”

Welcome to the Canigó College Alumni Association

Marta Beriain, president of Canigó Alumni, welcomed the graduates to the Association and spoke to them about friendship, but fundamentally commitment.

The event ended with the president of the AMPA presenting a gift to the 23 families who finished their span as parents in Canigo. At the end, all attendees sang the Gaudeamus Ígitur and were able to enjoy a family dinner in the school’s sports center.
